Narrated and hosted by Matt Damon, the series features 15 one-hour episodes that document and explain the most important environmental issues of the 21st century.

Journey to Planet Earth is supported by a variety of educational materials designed to give students a sense of discovery and excitement that comes with understanding more about the environment and developing action plans to solve problems within their communities. The series' Educational Resources provides educators access to leaders guides, lesson plans, and other resources. Through an interdisciplinary approach, these programs reach beyond the physical sciences and draw connections to politics, economics, sociology, and history.
